Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great honor for us to invite you to the 26th Congress of the Hungarian Neurosurgical Society, organized once again by the Department of Neurosurgery, Miskolc, ten years after our last hosting duties. The event will take place between April 24–26, 2026.
Following the memorable meeting in Lillafüred in 2016, it gives us special pleasure to once again host distinguished international experts and the excellence of the domestic neurosurgical community.
This year, the event will be hosted in Tokaj, the world-renowned wine region. Its natural beauty and cultural heritage will provide a worthy setting for professional exchange and friendly gatherings.
This Congress holds special significance for us: it is not only a prestigious professional event but also an opportunity to celebrate the more than 60-year anniversary of the foundation of the Department of Neurosurgery in Miskolc. Since 1964, our department has served patients from the region and across the country with unbroken development and dedication. We are proud to state that today, following the university clinical centers, we have grown into the largest neurosurgical department in Hungary, playing a decisive role not only in patient care but also in education and scientific life.
The aim of the 2026 Congress is to provide a forum for presenting the latest scientific results, sharing clinical experiences, and strengthening our professional community. In addition to current issues in classical neurosurgery, special attention will be devoted to the neurosurgical applications of state-of-the-art technologies, such as robotics, navigation systems, and artificial intelligence. Special emphasis will also be placed on presentations by young colleagues, multidisciplinary collaborations, and strategic questions concerning the future of our profession.
Accepting our invitation, a delegation from the Southeast Europe Neurosurgical Society (SeENS) will also join our scientific forum. The participation of these preeminent and influential figures of the profession adds exceptional value to our meeting, further strengthening the international significance and scientific prestige of the event.
We are confident that the Congress will not only be professionally rewarding and inspiring but will also offer opportunities for friendly reunions, recalling shared memories, and building new relationships. Tokaj, a UNESCO World Heritage site, serves as an excellent venue for a successful professional and social event.
We look forward to welcoming you with great respect and affection in Tokaj in 2026, to celebrate together the past, present, and future of Hungarian neurosurgery!
